Día de Muertos

from A$200.00

A little known story about me is that I was lucky enough to spend some of my early years living in Central America, in Honduras with the amazing Chiang family. They truly were the warm heart of Central America.

Since then I’ve held all things from Mexico to Costa Rica close to my heart. My favourite artist…Frida Kahlo. One of my favourite foods…Pupusas. My favourite town… Antigua in Guatemala. My favourite day of the year… the 2nd of November. Dia de Muertos, a joyous celebration of loved ones passed, an explosion of color and life-affirming joy. In the spirt of joy I had to create this Sugar Skull to remind us to celebrate today (this ain’t no dress rehearsal) and celebrate our friends and family who watch over us with a smile.

Illustrated in my studio and then printed on 308gsm Japanese cotton rag, it feels as lovely as it looks. This piece comes unframed which allows to you to frame exactly the way you want.
